Questions

Before you order.

Everything people ask us about the card and the app, answered plainly, including the parts that are not flattering.

About the card

What is the Getime card?

A thin NFC card, about the size of a bank card. No battery, no charging, nothing to open. You hold it to your phone to start a session, and hold it again to end one.

How much is it, and how do I pay?

30,000 IQD · Cash on delivery

You pay the courier when the card reaches you. There is no online payment, and no card details to type anywhere.

Where do you deliver, and how long does it take?

1 to 2 days, Baghdad and all governorates. No online payment, no card details anywhere.

One to two days in Baghdad and all governorates, after we call to confirm the address.

What if I lose it?

Register another card and you are back to normal. Until you do, a session that requires a card cannot be ended early. That is not an oversight, it is the entire reason the card works: a lock with a spare key in the drawer is not a lock. Sessions with a time limit still end by themselves, and the emergency unblock still exists. Order a spare if that worries you.

Can I register more than one card? Can one card unlock several profiles?

Yes to both. Register as many cards as you like, and any registered card unlocks any profile that uses one. Keeping a spare at home is a good idea.

Can two people share a card? Can I use it on a second phone?

Yes. The card holds no personal data and is not tied to an account: it is a tag your phone learns to recognise. Register the same card on both phones.

Do I need the card at all?

No. Walk to unlock, schedules and manual sessions all work without one, and the app is free either way. The card is the strongest commitment on offer, not a requirement.

Using the app

What can the app actually do?

Getime blocks the apps and sites that pull you in and keeps them behind the card until you decide to open them on purpose. You start a focus session and choose how it ends: a tap of the card, a short walk, a number of steps, a break, or a strict lock that will not let go. Save these as profiles for study, sleep or work, switch between them in a tap, and see your whole week at a glance, which sessions held and where your time actually went. Everything runs on your phone, offline.

What it can't do.

A phone app cannot make you unable to quit. Between sessions you can uninstall Getime, and no focus app on any platform can stop that. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling harder than we are.

What it changes is the price of quitting. A tap becomes a walk to another room, or a card you have to go and find. That gap is small, and it is usually the whole difference.

There is an emergency exit, it is slow on purpose, and it is limited on purpose. It exists for real emergencies, not for cravings.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Blocking and card scanning both happen on your device, offline.

Is there a subscription?

No subscription. The app is free, and the card is a one-time purchase.

What happens if my phone dies or restarts mid-session?

The session survives it. Blocking is enforced by the system itself, so restarting the phone does not clear it: when your phone comes back, the session is still running.

Can I get out early in a real emergency?

Yes, there is an emergency unblock, and it is deliberately slow. It makes you wait and confirm instead of tapping once, and it is limited so it cannot quietly turn into your normal way out. It is there for emergencies, not for cravings.

Does it block notifications too, or only the apps?

Getime blocks the apps and websites you pick. For full silence, run a Getime session alongside your phone's own Focus mode: the two work well together.

Does it work on iPad?

Partly. iPads have no NFC reader, so card strategies are unavailable there. Schedules, timers and manual sessions work normally.

Being straight with you

Can I bypass it?

Yes, and anyone who tells you otherwise is not being straight with you. On both iOS and Android you can force-stop an app, revoke its permissions or uninstall it, and no focus app can stop that. What Getime does instead is notice at once, tell you, and mark the session. The card is not a lock that cannot be picked. It makes picking it something you do on purpose, with your hands, instead of something your thumb does in half a second.

What data do you collect?

Your focus activity never leaves your device: we do not see it, store it or share it. The only details we hold are the ones you type into the order form, and we use them to deliver your card and nothing else.
