Your hours are being spent.
Just not by you.

Getime protects your time by isolating the apps that take your day and putting them behind the card, until you decide on entertainment you control, never another excessive dose of dopamine.

The arithmetic

Nobody loses a day at once. It leaves in pieces.

These are averages, not accusations. Measure your own.

Every day is another chance

This is your mind, full of distractions and excuses.

Getime asks you once, while you still mean it, then puts the key somewhere your thumb cannot reach.

Press once. This is your try.

Not a flaw, a design decision

You are both the judge and the opponent.

But a reminder arrives at your weakest minute and asks whether you still mean it. At one in the morning the honest answer takes one tap.

Getime asks the question earlier, while you still mean it, then puts the answer somewhere your thumb doesn't reach.

  1. Choose what to hold back

Pick the apps and websites from your phone's own picker. Getime never sees which ones you chose; the system handles that part.

  2. Choose how the session ends

There are several ways to end a session, one for every situation you find yourself in. This one choice is the whole app: it sets how far the exit sits from your thumb.

  3. Then it holds

Blocking runs at the system level, so a restart, a dead battery or a lost phone doesn't clear it. When the phone comes back, the session is still there.

You are not arguing with an app. You are arguing with yourself, at the hour you argue worst.

Pick your distance

How far should the exit be?

Stuck in a loop of procrastination, comfort and laziness. One more reel, then sleep. It never was the last one.

The card

A key that doesn't have to
stay in your pocket.

A thin NFC card, the size of a bank card. No battery, nothing to charge. Hold it to the phone to start, and again to end.

Where to keep it

  • On the desk on ordinary days.
  • In a drawer across the house during exam weeks.
  • With your study partner, or with someone you want to challenge, by swapping cards.

Good to know

  • Register as many cards as you like; a spare at home is sensible.
  • It holds no personal data and no account. Your phone simply learns to recognise it.
  • The app is free and complete without it. The card is the strongest option, not the entry fee.

How the card reaches you

Inside the app

The app, and the record it keeps.

Profiles for each part of your day, rings for the hours you kept, and the screens you will actually use.

The app is free, and it does most of this on its own. The card is there for the days it doesn't.

Getime asks for one permission, Screen Time, so the system can hold the apps you picked. Your sessions, your hours and your choices stay on the phone. There is no account to create, nothing to sync, and nothing for us to look at even if we wanted to.
